About me
For Shameka Montgomery, education isn't just a career, it’s a calling. As the Director of Career Education/Metropolitan Career Technical Center for LRSD, Shameka has spent over 28 years championing the idea that every student deserves a clear path to success.
Shameka has been instrumental in launching high-impact initiatives, most notably the Licensed Practical Nursing Program for high school students. Under her guidance, the inaugural cohort is set to achieve the historic milestone of graduating from both high school and nursing school this May. The only program of its kind in Pulaski County.
Shameka and her team designed the Freshman Seminar curriculum, a 9th-grade transition course designed to bridge the gap between middle and high school by fostering self-awareness and career exploration, which is a required course for all students in LRSD.
She holds an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration and a Master’s in Library Media/Informational Technology, reflecting her passion for leading a team and integrating technology into meaningful learning experiences for all.
Shameka is a devoted wife and mother of two daughters. Shameka lives by the philosophy that when you love God, your family, and the team you work with and the students you serve, the work and your life is a joy.
